Get Connected with Wellness on Campus
RIT Wellness is here to help you develop a healthy lifestyle, social interaction, and leadership skills. There are many ways to get connected with Wellness on campus:
Recreation
RIT is home to some of the finest recreational facilities at the college level, today. If you’re interested in playing your favorite sport, trying out a new activity, or making friends with similar interests, check out intramurals and club sports. Red Barn Climbing is also a fun way to get moving and try something new on campus!
If you’re looking for a solo challenge, sign up for a virtual 5k on Strava! Join challenges throughout the semester on the RIT Recreation Strava page and complete the virtual 5K on your own time. Winners will get a free Intramurals Champion t-shirt!
Education
Wellness Education and Outdoor Education, combined, offer over 400 wellness-related classes each year. There is a large variety of courses available for you to choose from, including Zumba, Juggling, Stress Management, Maple Syrup and our Environment, and more. Students are required to take two wellness classes prior to graduation, but there is no limit to the number of classes you can take. Shopping carts are open for the spring – check out the available courses in SIS!
Events and Programs
Health Promotion hosts a variety of events and programs throughout the academic year, focused on health education, skill development, and opportunities for growth. Topics range from alcohol and cannabis education, mental wellness and social connection, to sexual health education, and stress and sleep management.
