Scholarships
Awarded based on your academic merit. You are automatically considered for scholarships just by applying for admission
RIT does not offer full-cost or full-tuition scholarships. The typical maximum scholarship amount is $20,000 per year.
Grants
Awarded based on your financial need. To be eligible for need-based grants, you must fill out one of the applications below and upload it to your RIT admissions portal.
- Canadian Student Financial Aid Application
- College Board CSS Profile
- When completing the College Board CSS Profile, enter code 2760 on your CSS Profile application to have your Profile information sent to RIT.
- RIT International Student Financial Aid Application (RITISFAA)
Student Employment
All RIT students are eligible to work as student employees to earn money for personal expenses. RIT Employment awards designate the total amount of money you may earn per semester.

International Aid for Graduate Students
Scholarships
Awarded based on your academic merit. You are automatically just by applying for admission
RIT does not offer full cost or full tuition scholarships. The typical maximum scholarship amount is $20,000 per year.
Assistantships
Assistantships are student employment opportunities for full-time graduates to gain working experience and earn money for personal expenses. They are made available to full-time matriculated graduate students to serve as teaching, research, or administrative assistants. Graduate assistants receive wages, determined by the department making the appointment, in exchange for work performed.
There are three primary types of assistantships:
- Teaching Assistantships
Help faculty in classroom settings, mark assignments, offer mentorship to classmates - Research Assistantships
Help faculty perform research for ongoing projects - Admin Assistantships
Help faculty with administrative work
If you are awarded an assistantship, you will likely need to conduct your own search for an available position. For more information, please visit the FAQ section of the International Students page.
